The Chapter has developed a Chapter Sponsorship Program with the sponsorship proceeds supporting the WPA ASSP Chapter meetings and Scholarship/Grant Program while visibly marketing your company’s products and/or services to our members and the organizations in which we are involved. We offer three sponsorship packages.
It is important to note that other opportunities will be presented throughout the Chapter year including the Annual Professional Development Conference and Student Section Events that are separate from the above three packages.
For more information, go to the Sponsorship page on the website.

Nine ASSP members were among those identified as 2020 Rising Stars of Safety by National Safety Council (NSC). The program recognizes safety leaders under age 40 who are dedicated to providing safety leadership in their organization.
One of those 2020 Rising Stars is a member of the Western PA Chapter of ASSP. Congratulations to Joseph R. Kafton. The information from ASSP is below;
“Joseph R. Kafton is a safety specialist IV with Williams. He is a member of our Western Pennsylvania Chapter and Fire Protection Practice Specialty. “Joe is the subject matter expert for field safety personnel on questions regarding confined space, trenching and excavation, hot work, hazard communication, and crane safety. Joe listens intently to the concerns and questions from field personnel and provides solid, fact-based responses. Joe created a monthly hazard recognition focus for field employees to review. Each month, Joe developed a hazard slide deck that showed hidden hazards that were to be identified and discussed during employee safety meetings. He used different hazards each month so that our employees were aware of the various hazards that can be present in the work environment.”
