Topic: Implications of an Aging Workforce on Musculoskeletal Injuries
Description: In this timely Lunch & Learn, Sean Miller will discuss the impact that aging has on the musculoskeletal system, the implications of aging on post injury recovery, and interventions and controls to reduce the risk of injury associated with an aging workforce.
Sean Miller Bio:
Sean has been with Select Medical for 20 years. He began as a WorkStrategies Specialist to start up an
on-site injury prevention program for a local energy company. In 2011, Sean became the WorkStrategies
Coordinator for Select Medical in the Western PA region. In 2021, the West Virginia region was
incorporated into his territory. Sean oversees the WorkStrategies Services program and assists
companies in reducing injuries through, job analysis, risk assessments, early intervention, injury
prevention programs and post offer employment testing.
Prior to joining Select Medical, Sean worked as an Athletic Trainer in a variety of settings including high
school, college and professional baseball. Sean received his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from
Marshall University and his Master’s degree in Public Health from Austin Peay State University. He is a
Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer and is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in PA and WV. Sean also has
certifications as an Ergonomic Assessment Specialist and Onsite Injury Prevention Specialist.
