Fellow ASSP WPA Chapter Members,

The new Chapter year started July 01, 2022, and as YOUR Executive Committee works on the planning for this Chapter year, we ask for YOUR assistance in planning tours and meeting for YOU as part of YOUR membership in the Chapter. Do you see the theme here???

Last Chapter year we had an average monthly meeting participation rate of between 2% and 4% (two and four). In the just past elections for the current year Executive Committee, there was only 13% of membership participation in casting a ballot. This Executive Committee is very open to discuss with any member why we have more than 85% of our membership that does not participate. We want to know why those of you in that 85% do not participate in the Chapter. Why are you members of the ASSP and the Chapter?

We will be sending out this month a membership survey and ask you to be brutally honest providing constructive feedback and answers in that survey. We want you to be active in the Chapter so what do we, as YOUR Executive Committee, can do to make this Chapter so that YOU are willing to attend the tours or meetings and volunteer for short-term opportunities as a member of a sub-committee.

We are looking for volunteers for subcommittees including membership, programs planning, social media, scholarship, ASSP Foundation, awards, Nominations & Elections, and PDC Planning. If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer some of your time to assisting in this Chapter, contact any one of the Executive Committee members listed on the website.

We are planning the monthly events and are trying to schedule more tours than meetings. We are trying to get more involved with and provide more support to the Student Sections of IUP, SRU, and Thiel College. If you have ideas for tours or meetings, recommendations for tours or speakers, or ideas for tours or meetings contact any one of the Executive Committee members listed on the website.

I want to take one more opportunity to thank the outgoing Executive Committee for their commitment in 2021-2022 Chapter year. A special thank you to Fran Sehn, the President for Chapter Year 2021-2022 who started as the Vice President then moved into President. We appreciate your willingness to step in and lead the Chapter!

YOU are strongly encouraged to take a look at who has volunteered to work as the Executive Committee to bring YOU, the Chapter members, value for the annual membership dues that YOU continue to pay YOUR membership with the ASSP and this Chapter.
