PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Spring is finally here!!

The results of the election for the the 2019-2020 chapter leadership have been released. Read about it in the Chapter News section of the Newsletter and on the chapter website. Congratulations to Bill Boots as Vice President and Peter Kroll as Treasurer.

The April Technical Meeting is a Lunch meeting with OSHA CSHO's providing an OSHA Update. Registration is open!

The Chapter will be participating as a vendor at the National Safety Council's Northeast Conference & Expo on May 1-3, 2019 at the Pittsburgh Convention Center. If you would like to volunteer for working at the booth for an hour or two during the expo, please email me.

The 2019 Joint PDC is scheduled for November 13, 2019 at IUP. Save the Date!

The PDC Planning Committee is looking for volunteers with fresh ideas. If you are interested in volunteering for the Planning Committee, contact Tracey Cekada at cekadat@iup.edu

The Executive Committee continuously encourages you to let us know what you think about the Chapter, the newsletter, and/or if you have ideas for meetings, tours, or speakers. Help us to provide you with value for the dues you are paying the Society and the Chapter each year.

NSC Northeast Conference & Expo

National Safety Standown to Prevent Falls in Construction May 6-10
The Chapter is partcipating in this event with RETTEW and the Pittsburgh office of OSHA with an event on Thursday, May 09, 2019 from 7:30am to 1:00pm at the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh Airport, 6011 Campbells Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA.
The event is Free and open to the public.

Event Highlights
- Fall Hazard Awareness Training for the Construction Industry - OSHA 7405, worth .7 CEUs
- OSHA-led fall protection presentation, followed by Q&A
- Fall protection giveaway valued at approximately $300 (must be present to win)
- Light breakfast and lunch
