Topic: Natural Gas Midstream Operations – Tour of Compressor Station
Tour Description: On the compressor station tour, attendees will have the opportunity to learn in detail how natural gas flows through the facility from entry to exit. The tour begins with an overview of how gas enters the facility through large inlet pipes and passes into an inlet separator. This is where the of separation happens – the liquids are separated from the gas. Next, the natural gas liquids are separated into condensate and water. The water is then piped to on-site tanks, while the condensate undergoes a stabilization process before being piped to its own set of on-site tanks. Both the produced water and condensate are eventually trucked off-site.
The tour continues with a look at how the natural gas, once separated, is piped to compressors. Here, the gas is pressurized and then moved to the glycol dehydration system to remove any additional water. Finally, attendees will see how the natural gas is delivered downstream through a discharge pipe to a processing plant , where it undergoes final processing before being delivered to downstream consumers.
